Reject a translation and correct it

A reviewer sends one value on a translator’s branch back with a reason, the translator finds it and rewrites it, and the reviewer approves the rewrite. Each step shows the screen of the person who acts in it.

A translation is Draft, Translated or Reviewed. Writing or correcting a value makes it Translated, and a branch's review request keeps it waiting for a reviewer. Approving it makes it Reviewed; rejecting it, with a reason, puts it back to Draft with the reason beside it.

Three statuses, and rejected is not one of them: a rejection puts the value back to Draft with the reason beside it. The branch’s review request stands until the merge, so a corrected value is back in the reviewer’s queue without anyone asking twice.

  1. Step 01

    Reject with a reason

As the reviewer, open the branch from Reviews, click shop.product.notifyMe, click Reject and write what has to change before you click Request changes — the reason is required, and it is all the translator has to go on.

  2. Step 02

    Find it under Rejected

As the translator, open Reviews in the header — the Rejected tab lists the value with the reviewer’s note, and a collected email about it links to the same tab.

    How it works: Reviews

  3. Step 03

    Correct the value

Click the row to land on the key in the branch and rewrite the value — it is Translated again as soon as it is written, and the note stays beside it under Review Feedback.

  4. Step 04

    Back with the reviewer

There is nothing to send: the review request still stands, so the branch is still under Needs review on the reviewer’s Reviews page, marked Ready, with the rewritten value as the one change left to look at.

    How it works: Reviews

  5. Step 05

    Approve the correction

As the reviewer, open the branch again, read the rewritten value and click Approve — both changes on the branch are now reviewed.
