User Management
Invite team members, assign roles, and manage your organization.
Rather follow one invitation screen by screen? The tutorial Invite a Translator to Your Team walks from the Members tab to the page the invited person opens, with a screenshot of every step.
Roles
Every team member has a role that determines what they can do:
Owner: read, write, review, administer. Maintainer: read, write, review. Translator: read, write. Viewer: read. Each role holds everything the role below it holds, plus one bundle.
Each role holds everything the one below it holds, plus one bundle. Maintainer is the step to give somebody who should review and merge but has no business with the member list or the invoice.
Approving a translation and paying for the account are unrelated jobs. Before Maintainer they were the same one, which left a team choosing between too few reviewers and too many owners.
Inviting members
Open the Members tab
Open the organization menu in the top bar, choose Organization settings, then the Members tab and Invite member. Only owners can invite.
Enter email and role
Type the invitee's email address and choose their role — Maintainer, Translator or Viewer.
Send invitation
The invitee receives an email with a link to join your organization.
They accept
Once they click the link and sign in (or create an account), they appear as an active team member.
Inviting people, creating API keys and saving a webhook all need a confirmed email address. Until you have clicked the link in the confirmation mail, those buttons stay disabled and say why, and you can have the mail sent again from right there.
Managing members
Change role
Owners can change any member's role at any time. In the Members tab of the organization settings, click the role next to the member's name and pick a new one. You cannot change your own role.
Remove member
Owners can remove team members from the organization. The removed member loses access to all projects immediately.
Leave organization
Non-owner members can leave an organization voluntarily via the Settings page. If you're the sole owner, you must transfer ownership first.
Resend invitation
If a team member hasn't accepted their invite, owners can resend the invitation email from the Members tab of the organization settings. Pending invitations are listed below the active members.
Organizations
Projects and team members are organized under organizations. You can create multiple organizations — for example, one per company or client. Switch between organizations using the org switcher in the top navigation bar.
- Create new organizations from the org switcher dropdown.
- Create projects inside an organization (Owner only).
- Rename organizations in the Settings page (Owner only).
- Each organization has its own set of projects and team members.
- Each browser tab keeps the organization it is working in. Switching in one tab leaves the others where they are, so a second tab can stay open on another organization.
